MISSION: Learn a new phrase in Spanish. Use it.
SOURCE: Diana
DETAILS: I flipped through my Spanish dictionary and found the phrase for I’d like to make a reservation (Quiero hacer una reservacion), which is new to me because I didn’t know the word for reservation was feminine.
Anyway, I wandered down to Vamos al Tequila, a resaurant on Franklin St. in Brooklyn and used the above phrase. The waitress looked around and said, “Si, senor, nadie esta aqui. Puede sentarse dondequiere desea.”

MISSION: Learn about, then tell someone about Easter Bunnies and why they are included in this holiday.
SOURCE: Will
DETAILS: I looked at more than a few websites who all had different accounts of where the Easter Bunny actually came from. What was consistent is that Easter was traditionally associated with springtime and Rabbits and Hares are signs of fertility. This is also why eggs are included in the ritual.
I got into a conversation with a guy named Mark at T.B.D (Brooklyn bar) and we both agreed that the holiday has come a long way from celebrating the death and resurrection of Christ.

MISSION: Eat something that you’ve never tried before.
SOURCE: Jen
DETAILS: I don’t eat a ton of sweets, so I decided to try a Skor bar, which is toffee covered in chocolate. First, I did a little research as to what toffee is (because I thought it might have coffee in it, which I don’t drink… turns out toffee is a confection made by caramelizing sugar or molasses along with butter and occasionally flour). After that, I enjoyed my treat.

MISSION: Buy something you want.
SOURCE: Leah
DETAILS: Leah is Taylor’s friend (from yesterday). For this Mission I decided to order a book on the topic of psychiatric drugs in America. Recently I have had a few conversations and even seen a documentary on this industry and I have grown worried about how often these drugs are being prescribed to our citizens, especially our children.
I found a book called Anatomy of an Epidemic, written by veteran journalist/author, Bob Whitaker. I ordered it on Amazon.com. It will arrive next week.

MISSION: Tell a lie.
SOURCE: Robin
DETAILS: I stopped into a bar on the way home - not sure of the name. I began chatting with the bartender and had the following conversation:
“What’s a good local beer? I asked.
“The Blue Point Toasted Lager is brewed just out on Long Island,” he answered.
“Nice, I’ll try that.”
“Where you from?” he asked.
“California,” I told him.
“Oh nice. What brought you here?”
“Well, I lost sponsorship back home, so I’m just travelling for now.”
“Sponsorship? What do you do?”
“I race cars.”
“Seriously? Like NASCAR?”
“Formula One, actually.”
“That’s awesome!”
The bartender left at this point to serve a few customers and I concentrated on finishing my beer rather quickly. I got up to go and gave him a wave as I did, which brought him back over.
“Wait,” he said as he pulled out his smartphone. “What’s your name?”
“Nicky Sylvester,” I answered. “I’m not sure if you’ll find anything online though, it was small time stuff.
“Well I’ll look out for you. Later, man!”

MISSION: Take a drive through an NYC neighborhood that you’ve never been to.
SOURCE: Jacob
DETAILS: I played soccer in Sheepshead Bay tonight and afterwards, instead of taking the BQE, I took Bedford Ave. all the way home. I drove through Midwood (which was really nice), East Flatbush, Lefferts Gardens, Clinton Hill, Williamsburg and eventually, Greenpoint. It was a nice drive and I’ve definitely never been to a few of these neighborhoods.
